New Student Convocation

The New Student Convocation is a ceremony attended by faculty, first-year course instructors and students to officially welcome and induct new undergraduate students into the UNC Charlotte community of learners. During the convocation ceremony, students will learn about UNC Charlotte’s history, mission, values, and academic expectations. Just as graduation marks the completion of a course of study, Convocation marks the beginning of the new students’ academic journey at UNC Charlotte. The New Student Convocation Ceremony is part of the Day of Convocation, taking place on Monday, August 22, 2016. Day of Convocation activities start at 9 a.m. for the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences, as students gather in Dale Halton Arena inside the Barnhardt Student Activity Center. The New Student Convocation Ceremony starts at 11 a.m. in the Dale Halton Arena.

For majors within the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences, or CLAS for short, we are providing these details so that you will know where to go to meet fellow classmates, to meet their major department, and to meet some of the College's award-winning professors.
