Academic Advising in CLAS

The CLAS Office of Advising & Student Services is currently operating REMOTELY.

...and we're busy!  Please allow up to 48 hours for a response to email inquiries, and please refrain from emailing multiple people with the same request.  We appreciate your patience.  We're all in this together!

For more information on UNC Charlotte's response to COVID-19, see

Transient Study Forms:

If you need to submit a Transient Study form, please email the form to Alison Walsh at

  • Must be a high-quality scan (not a photo) or saved from the fillable PDF (available here).
  • Don't worry if you don't have all the departmental signatures on the form. Ms. Walsh will contact you if additional info is needed.

If you are a new student entering UNC Charlotte as of Fall 2020, you will need a personal laptop computer to support your college experience, particularly as classes adapt to include more virtual options. Learn more about the Niner Ready Laptop Initiative here. Make sure to review the recommended hardware specs, which will help ensure your device has the power, speed and memory you need.

The Office of Advising & Student Services is the primary provider of academic advising for declared freshmen in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences. Staffed by six full-time academic advisors, the center also serves as a resource to any UNC Charlotte student, faculty, or staff member with questions regarding advising and the general education requirements.

We are located in Fretwell 235, beside the main entrance on the second floor of the building.
